1. Scope of Services

We provide the following cleaning services:

  • Residential Cleaning (regular, deep, one-time)

  • Post-Construction Cleaning (dust and debris removal, detailed cleaning after renovations or new builds)

  • End-of-Tenancy Cleaning (move-in/move-out cleaning to meet lease requirements)

  • We strive to complete all cleaning services as efficiently and thoroughly as possible. However, please note that all time estimates provided prior to service are based on general assumptions and the information available at the time of booking. These are not guaranteed timeframes. Actual cleaning times may vary depending on the condition of the space, the level of buildup, and the amount of clutter present. In some cases, areas may require more time and attention than originally anticipated once cleaning has commenced. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, as our primary goal is to ensure high-quality results in every service we provide.

Promotion Notice: Please note that our 5-hour promotional offer (2 cleaners for 2.5 hours unless otherwise stated) is not designed for full deep cleaning services, as this duration is typically not sufficient to complete a comprehensive deep clean. If you choose to book the 5-hour option, we cannot guarantee that all requested tasks will be completed. However, our team will work efficiently and prioritize key areas to ensure we deliver the highest possible level of satisfaction within the allotted time.

  • The 5 hour promo is a minimum call out of $200. If the requested tasks are completed in less than 5 hours​ the minimum will still be charged

Services are performed by trained professionals using standard cleaning supplies unless otherwise agreed.

2. Bookings and Scheduling

  • Please allow for a 30 minute arrival time from the scheduled cleaning time. (ie. 9:00 am appointment - Arrival time between 9:00 am-9:30 am)

  • All bookings must be confirmed via email, phone, or our booking platform, messenger (ad responses)

  • Clients must provide accurate information about the property type, size, and condition.

  • For post-construction and end-of-tenancy jobs, a site visit may be required for accurate quoting.

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for changes or cancellations.

  • We charge based on the amount of labour hours a clean takes in total. A minimum of 4 labour hours of services will be charged for any clean, if the services take less than the 4 hours ie, only 1-3 hours you will still be charged the minimum of 4 hours ($180) 

  • Surrounding areas of Calgary will be charged a $30-$50 location fee

3. Access to Property

  • Clients must ensure safe, unhindered access to the premises.

  • Parking and entry instructions must be provided in advance.

  • Inaccessibility at the time of the appointment may result in a missed appointment fee of $50 (This includes the client being late to the premises for entry/walk through) - Late entry may hinder the ability for all tasks to be completed due to time shortage

4. Client Responsibilities

  • Clear the area of personal belongings, valuables, and obstructions.

  • For post-construction jobs: All major construction work must be completed before cleaning begins.

  • For end-of-tenancy: The property should be vacant and utilities (water, electricity) must be connected.

5. Payment Terms

  • Residential cleans: Payment is due immediately upon completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any payment not received on or before the date of service will result in a $30 late fee.

  • Accepted payment methods for residential cleans: E-transfer

  • Credit card (via commercial invoice payment only - currently unavailable for residential cleans. We are working on getting our credit card option available for residential cleans)

  • Commercial: Invoices unpaid after 7 days may incur late payment fees of $30

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will incur a cancellation fee of $50

  • For larger jobs (e.g., post-construction), we require 48 hours' notice due to planning and staffing.

  • Rescheduling is subject to availability.

7. Service Guarantee & Complaints

  • We offer a 24-hour satisfaction guarantee. If you're not satisfied, notify us within 24 hours, and we will return to address the issue free of charge.

  • Complaints reported beyond 24 hours may not qualify for a re-clean.

8. Liability & Insurance

  • We carry public liability insurance.

  • We are not liable for:

    • Pre-existing damage or wear and tear.

    • Discolouration or deterioration due to age or improper installation.

  • We will not be held liable for any loss or damage unless it can be clearly demonstrated that such loss or damage was directly caused by our actions or negligence. The burden of proof of such causation rests with the customer. ​

  • Damage to fragile items, must be disclosed prior to your clean.

  • Sisters Who Shine and our Subcontractors will take reasonable care when handling household items during cleaning services. However, we do not assume responsibility for the repair or replacement of items that are inherently fragile, improperly secured, or of high monetary or sentimental value.

  • This includes, but is not limited to: glassware, collectibles, artwork, electronics, heirlooms, and specialty décor. Clients are encouraged to store such items safely prior to service.

  • By engaging our services, the Client agrees that Sisters Who Shine and our Subcontractors shall not be held liable for damage to fragile or high-value items unless gross negligence can be clearly demonstrated. If you have items of exceptional value or sensitivity, please notify us in writing before your scheduled service so we can take additional precautions or exclude them from cleaning..

  • The Client acknowledges that appliances, fixtures, or equipment that are 10 years old or older are more prone to wear, malfunction, or breakage. Sisters Who Shine and our subcontractors do not assume responsibility for the repair or replacement of any such items that fail during or after our service. Clients are encouraged to disclose the age and condition of major appliances prior to service. If no such disclosure is made, Sisters Who Shine assumes the appliance is in good working order and under 10 years of age

  • By accepting our services, the Client agrees that Sisters Who Shine and our subcontractors shall not be held liable for any damage, failure, or operational issues related to appliances or fixtures aged 10 years or more, including but not limited to dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, ovens, and refrigerators.

  • For post-construction cleaning, we are not responsible for:

    • Structural defects or unsafe materials left by builders.

    • Scratches on delicate surfaces covered by dust/debris.

9. Health and Safety

  • Hazardous materials (e.g., asbestos, mold, biohazards) must be disclosed beforehand.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service if the environment is unsafe for our staff

  • For safety and liability reasons, our cleaning staff are only permitted to use a two-step ladder while performing cleaning services. As such, any areas that are not safely reachable using a two-step ladder will not be cleaned. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe working environment for our team.

10. Equipment and Supplies

  • We provide all standard cleaning materials.

  • If the client requests specific products or equipment to be used, this must be agreed in advance. Speciality equipment such as specific tool attachments that the client is requesting will be charged directly to the client. 

11. Force Majeure

  • We are not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather, illness, accidents, transport disruptions).

12. Privacy Policy

  • Client information will be kept confidential and used only to provide services and communicate relevant updates. Please refer to our full Privacy Policy. 

  • Before and after photos may be taken for quality control purposes only. They will only be used for internal purposes unless otherwise agreed upon.

15. Client Protection & Non-Solicitation

  • We may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website and will take effect immediately upon posting.

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Calgary, Alberta

  • Subcontractors are strictly prohibited from soliciting, contacting, or offering services directly to clients introduced or serviced by Sisters Who Shine. All client relationships are the exclusive property of Sisters Who Shine. Any breach of this policy may result in immediate termination of subcontractor assignments and potential legal action.

16. Subcontractor Relationships

  • Our company may engage independent subcontractors to perform cleaning services on our behalf. All subcontractors are required to maintain valid insurance, provide their own supplies and transportation, and comply with our company’s performance and client protection standards.

  • Subcontractors operate as independent entities and are not employees of Sisters Who Shine. They are bound by a written Subcontractor Agreement that outlines payment terms, non-solicitation of clients, and service quality expectations.

17. Relationship to Subcontractors Agreement

  • These Terms and Conditions are intended to complement and support the terms outlined in the official Cleaning Subcontractor Agreement. In the event of any inconsistency, the terms of the Subcontractor Agreement will take precedence for all matters concerning subcontracted work.
